Manchester City will face off against Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium this Saturday evening as they look to secure a good result in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. The Mancunian club were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Real Madrid on penalties in midweek, so they would be eager to bounce back with a good showing in this cup game.

Pep Guardiola will set his players up in a 3-2-2-3 formation once again and might opt for a few changes for this clash. Stefan Ortega, Nathan Ake and Julian Alvarez will all get an opportunity to impress from the start of this game.

Defence

Stefan Ortega will play in goal for Man City as he looks to keep a clean sheet at Wembley. Guardiola will opt for a back three of Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias and Kyle Walker as they look to keep the opposition attackers at bay throughout the game.

Josko Gvardiol will get a rest on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Rodri and John Stones will anchor the midfield for Man City as they focus on dominating possession at the centre of the park and creating some decent chances for their teammates up top. Both Kevin de Bruyne, who is a slight concern ahead of this game, and Julian Alvarez will try to give a good account of himself as the free-flowing, attacking midfielders.

Mateo Kovacic will be named on the bench as he awaits his chance to shine in the second half if required.

Attack

Jeremy Doku will hope to catch the eye on the left flank while Phil Foden looks to weave his magic from the right. Erling Haaland should get the nod to spearhead Guardiola’s attack down the middle if he can recover in time for this game. The Norway international would be eager to find the back of the net after shooting blanks versus Real Madrid in midweek.

Jack Grealish will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to express himself in the final quarter of the game if Man City are in need of a goal by then.
