Orkun Kokcu informs Feyenoord he wants to leave | OneFootball

Following the decision to end the Eredivisie, Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu informed his club that he won’t extend his contract and wants to leave.

The Daily Mail report that Orkun Kokcu told Feyenoord he wants to leave this summer, amid links to Arsenal. As we covered recently, the Eredivisie club made a couple of attempts to extend the midfielder’s contract, but he rejected both of them.

The Mail claim Kokcu made it clear after the end of the Dutch season that he doesn’t intend to sign an extension. He still has three years left on his contract, but it’s looking more likely he’ll move on at this point.

Arsenal and Sevilla are reportedly the two leading clubs after Kokcu. Frank Arnesen recently confirmed Sevilla’s interest, whilst Feyenoord head coach Dick Advocaat suggested he understands the Arsenal interest is real.

Kokcu made 35 appearances this season, scoring three goals and assisting six. The 19-year-old is a Turkey u21 international, making his debut at that level earlier this season. He previously played for the Netherlands at u17, u18 and u19 levels.

Arsenal first watched Kokcu all the way back on his Feyenoord debut in 2018. The midfielder scored one and assisted one in just 45 minutes on the pitch, making quite an impression. The question now is how much he’ll cost in the current market.
