Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu will enter the last year of his contract this summer and although the Saints are yet to tie him down to a new deal, the Spaniard admits he isn’t too worried.
The 30-year-old has been with the club since 2015 and is showing no signs of unrest on the South coast.
“I want to carry on here, we’ll see how far we go and we’ll see what happens with the contract,” he told HampshireLive.
“I am feeling good, physically. I think this is perhaps the best period of my career and I have found some habits here that are really helping me.
“I still have a year and a half to go so I try not to think of it too much but I am enjoying it. I want to go year by year to see how far we can go.”
Romeu and Southampton will take on league leaders Manchester City on Saturday.
