In order to revamp the team for the 2020 Clausura, Chivas could include Oribe Peralta as a potential trade piece to acquire a better player.
The 35-year-old has not been close to providing the performances that were expected performance since arriving at Chivas.
Despite being under contract until 2021, Peralta does not appear to be involved in Luis Fernando Tena’s plans whatsoever and Ricardo Peláez could search the market for a replacement in January.
Atlas left-back Jesús Angulo appears to be Peláez’s first desired reinforcement and there could be a potential swap involving the two players.
However, there are two big roadblocks that could potentially hinder the move.
The first is that it will be difficult to offload Peralta due to his very high salary. Second is that Atlas are very against letting the 21-year-old Angulo go on the cheap.
Despite making 13 appearances, including nine starts, Peralta only scored a single goal this season, which came against second-division side Correcaminos to break his year-long drought.
