The 2020/21 season is beginning to take shape across Europe, and so too are the OneFootball Power Rankings.

Here’s who made our top 10 this week.

10. FC Augsburg (🆕)

After finishing dangerously just above the relegation zone last season, Heiko Herrlich’s side have made a perfect start to the new campaign.

Last weekend they were deserved 2-0 victors at home to Borussia Dortmund and it will be interesting to see if they can keep the good vibes going when they travel to face Wolfsburg on Sunday.

9. Rennes (🆕)

Over in France, the side currently top of Ligue 1 after five matches is Rennes following their 3-0 victory over fellow high-flyers Saint-Étienne last weekend.

They may have lost goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to Chelsea but it looks like they’ll be keeping hold of young Eduardo Camavinga and if Paris Saint-Germain continue to flounder, Julien StĂ©phan’s men could challenge for the title this season.

8. Getafe (🆕)

Owing partly to the fact that some clubs have still only played one or two matches, it’s Getafe who are currently top of LaLiga having kept a clean sheet in all three of their matches so far.

Real Betis dominated the possession in Tuesday’s match at Coliseum Alfonso PĂ©rez but it didn’t matter because JosĂ© BordalĂĄs’s men kept their opponents at arms length and had the game effectively wrapped up before half-time.

7. TSG Hoffenheim (🆕)

What a start to the season it’s been for Hoffenheim.

After winning 3-2 away at Cologne on the opening weekend, they sent shockwaves across Europe with a stunning 4-1 victory over Bayern Munich last weekend.

Andrej Kramarić has got five goals to his name already, and he’s only taken 11 shots at goal.

6. Napoli (🆕)

While all the noise has been about Andrea Pirlo in Serie A this season, another legendary former Italian midfielder has been quietly going about his business.

Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli currently top the table following a 2-0 win over Parma and a 6-0 thrashing of Genoa. Victor Osimhen looks to be bedding in well, and Kalidou Koulibaly looks to be staying put.

It could be a very interesting race for the Scudetto this year.

5. Liverpool (🆕)

Third season collapse? What third season collapse?

Monday’s clash with Arsenal was supposed to a big test of Liverpool’s credentials but they sailed through it and extended their 100% start to the new season.

Thiago AlcĂąntara will be out for a little while but fellow new signing Diogo Jota has hit the ground running and the Reds are already heavy favourites to retain their Premier League title.

4. Ajax (👍 Last week: 9)

You can now add Sergiño Dest to the list of departures this summer but Ajax just keep on trucking.

Last weekend’s hard fought 2-1 victory over Vitesse (in which they were reduced to 10 men just before half-time) made it three wins from three and leaves the champions top of Eredivisie.

3. Everton (👎 Last week: 2)

We’ve seen numerous false dawns at Goodison Park over the years but this time, it really does look like everything is in place for success under Carlo Ancelotti.

James RodrĂguez has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water and Dominic Calvert-Lewin cannot stop scoring.

But they drop a place in our rankings for the slightly fortuitous handball decision they benefited from in the win at Crystal Palace.

2. AC Milan (👍 Last week: 3)

There was much scepticism surrounding Milan’s decision to hire Stefano Pioli permanently this summer but he just keeps on getting results.

The Rossoneri move up a place in our rankings following a 2-0 win over Crotone last weekend, which means they still haven’t lost in any competition since 8 March.

1. Leicester (👍 Last week: 7)

Many clubs had a good weekend in Europe last week but nobody enjoyed themselves quite as much as Leicester.

Brendan Rodgers’s side were sensational in their 5-2 win away at Manchester City and though they were helped by three penalties, they thoroughly deserved the three points.

That disappointing end to last season is way back in the rearview mirror now and it will be interesting to see what 2020/21 has in store for the Foxes.
