An important summer transfer window lies ahead for Millwall, particularly if they are unable to break into the top six before the end of the season.

Jed Wallace’s contract situation is looming large in the background with the club’s talisman potentially leaving on a free in the summer.

In replenishing their forward line, the Lions are interested in a move for Shrewsbury Town striker Daniel Udoh according to Football Insider.

The Nigeran has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season and has looked like an exciting up and coming talent in the third tier.

The 25-year-old was signed from Telford United by the Shrews in the summer of 2019, and has started to show his quality as an EFL goalscorer at New Meadow this term.

Here, we have taken a look at one winner and one loser at Millwall if they manage to sign Daniel Udoh…

Winner: Tom Bradshaw

Tom Bradshaw also has an expiring contract at The Den, but that will likely be sorted at some stage, after the 29-year-old has enjoyed his most productive season in a Millwall shirt.

The former Barnsley has struggled with niggling injuries in recent years but has become one of the club’s main goalscorers this season alongside Benik Afobe and Jed Wallace.

Similarly to Bradshaw, Udoh has thrived this season playing alongside a more physical striker, Ryan Bowman at Shrewsbury, and the duo could go on to build an exciting partnership next term at The Den.

Gary Rowett likes to deploy a front two when possible and Udoh and Bradshaw could bounce off each other, looking to build on this season’s promise in South London.

Loser: Benik Afobe

Benik Afobe has scored 11 goals in all competitions for Millwall this season, on loan from Stoke City where he is out of contract in the summer.

The 29-year-old could be eyeing a permanent move to The Den this summer, but Udoh probably provides a cheaper alternative to the former Bournemouth striker.

That could leave Afobe in a difficult unattached situation at the end of the season, if a deal for Udoh is completed early on in the transfer window.
