Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was superb against Brentford at the Community Stadium last weekend.

WhoScored gave the midfielder a 7.02/10 for his 90-minute performance in the aforementioned Premier League fixture.

Henderson was very good with the ball at his feet against Brentford. The 31-year-old completed 83.3 percent of his passes and registered an assist against the Bees.

With that being the case, pundit Garth Crooks named Henderson in his Premier League Team of the Week.

Crooks told the BBC the following: “Liverpool keep trying to write this lad off but when the Merseysiders hit the buffers, and they did against Brentford, Henderson is the one player they can depend on to see them through the crisis. An exceptional professional.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We agree with Crooks’ comments. Henderson has been a very reliable player for Liverpool.

Back in the summer of 2011, the Reds purchased the midfielder from Sunderland for a transfer fee of €18 million.

The Englishman has scored 31 goals and registered 52 assists in 399 appearances for Liverpool’s first-team.

Henderson has also captained the Reds to the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League title.

The 31-year-old recently signed a new deal with the Reds. Henderson’s contract expires in the summer of 2025.
