The final days of the summer transfer window do seem like they will be busy for Manchester City. There are several players whose futures at the club remain in limbo. But one move in particular could shape the entire week for City. That is Savinho’s potential move to Tottenham. What happens regarding the Brazilian winger’s future will shape how busy City are to close out the transfer window.
Dean Jones has reported for TeamTalk that Tottenham is confident of signing Savinho from Manchester City. Furthermore, Jones reports that Tottenham has made fresh contact with City over signing the Brazilian international. Jones also reports that Savinho is convinced that signing for Thomas Frank’s side will be a good move for his career. It is also reported by Jones that Manchester City is surprised by how eager Savinho is to complete a move to Spurs. Lastly, Dean Jones reports that the deal is a complicated one to complete. But the agents of Savinho have been working hard to secure a move for the exciting young winger.
If Savinho were to leave Manchester City before the transfer window closes, they would have to replace him. It is hard to imagine City letting Savinho leave without adding another attacking player. Whether that player is Real Madrid winger Rodrygo or somebody else. Last summer, City sold Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid but didn’t replace him. That’s saw them sign Omar Marmoush in January as they needed to fill an obvious gap in Pep Guardiola’s squad. Hugo Viana will not want to make a similar mistake this summer.
Savinho’s future is one story to monitor this week. If the Brazilian winger is sold to Tottenham that move has the potential to shape the final days of the transfer window for Manchester City. There are several storylines to watch out for this week from a City point of view, but the Savinho situation could be the most significant story of the entire week.
