An update on the personnel situation in Osasuna’s squad has this evening been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, who have confirmed that one key member of the Rojillos’ backline was forced to sit out training on Thursday.

The player in question? Jesús Areso.

Right-back Areso is understood to be struggling with muscular overload, put through an individualised session away from the rest of Jagoba Arrasate’s this morning as a result.

Though he has not yet been ruled out, the 24-year-old is therefore viewed as a doubt to feature against Las Palmas this weekend.

On the other hand, altogether more encouraging news has surfaced regarding Juan Cruz.

Like Areso, stopper Cruz was absent from team training on Wednesday, owing to a muscular concern.

24 hours on, though, he was spotted back amongst Osasuna’s stars, giving rise to confidence that the Spaniard will be available for selection at the Estadio Gran Canaria on Sunday evening.
