A trip to Mestalla to face Valencia lies in store, with new boss Flick and his coaching staff no doubt desperate to get things up and running in positive fashion.

So, in efforts towards as much, who will be at the disposal of the German, and who won’t?

Speaking in a press conference on Friday, Flick was drawn on the availability of two such players, in the form of Lamine Yamal, and Dani Olmo.

In the case of the former, whose father is recovering well after being the victim of a stabbing on Wednesday night, wide-man Lamine is ready to play his part:

“Will Lamine Yamal play tomorrow after his father’s accident? Yes, he will play.”

Summer signing Dani Olmo, on the other hand, will not be involved, owing both to his registration situation, and a lack of match fitness:

“Dani Olmo? He’s not been registered yet but he also isn’t ready physically to play. He will not be part of the team tomorrow.”
