The plans of Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick and goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen do not at all align for the 2025/26 campaign.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have this weekend provided an insight into the situation.

Goalkeeper Ter Stegen’s name has of course proven an altogether prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that those behind the scenes at Barcelona are attempting to push the club’s long-time no.1 out.

With Joan García’s arrival now confirmed, Ter Stegen has become somewhat surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou.

This is a viewpoint shared by the aforementioned Hansi Flick, who is ready to count on Joan as his new first-choice for next season.

Safe to say, however, that Ter Stegen himself views the situation differently…

As per a report from MD:

‘On July 13th, pre-season will begin and the Barça captain has no other intention than working towards becoming the first-choice goalkeeper next season.’
