Andre Onana is unlikely to leave Manchester United this summer after the goalkeeper was sidelined for several weeks with a hamstring injury.

Onana’s future at the club had been cast in doubt with the Red Devils assessing options in the transfer window.

United had been linked with potential moves to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi but plans to sign a new number one could be put on hold.

Onana had been a target for Saudi Pro League sides, though Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that no formal offers for the Cameroonian had arrived. His injury is likely to deter suitors and complicates a potential exit.

United are still considering signing a goalkeeper but a lack of sales so far this summer has meant limited funds are available to spend.

The club are currently looking for suitors for Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho.

Altay Bayindir is set to be the first-choice goalkeeper for the pre-season campaign as Onana recovers from injury.

Tom Heaton has also signed a new one-year extension, while 21-year-old Czech Republic youth international Radek Vitek is highly-regarded at Old Trafford. Vitek has returned from a loan spell at Austrian side FC Blau-Weiss Linz last season.
