2001: City travel to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday, hoping to improve on a poor away record of three defeats in our first four games of the 2001/02 – and turned in an unforgettable display with Ali Benarbia running the show with a majestic display.

Despite falling behind early on, goals from Benarbia, Shaun Goater (2), Danny Granville and Paulo Wanchope (2) completed a 6-2 rout over the Owls that in no way flattered the visitors and delights the 6,000 travelling army.

City moved into fourth spot as a result of the win, six points behind Championship leaders Burnley.

It was thrilling, breath-taking stuff that placed down a marker for the rest of the division – one nobody could get anywhere near!

2013: It was derby delight for new manager Manuel Pellegrini as a rampant City made a huge statement about our Premier League ambitions with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Manchester United.

Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure gave City a commanding half-time lead at the Etihad and an emphatic victory was then confirmed by further goals from Aguero and Samir Nasri within five minutes of the restart.

Wayne Rooney’s late free-kick served as nothing more than a sliver of consolation for David Moyes’ United.

2015: City ran riot on Wearside as we recorded a superb 4-1 win at Sunderland in our Carabao Cup third round encounter.

Inspired by a Kevin De Bruyne masterclass, Manuel Pellegrini’s side chalked up four goals in the opening 45 minutes.

Sergio Aguero fired City ahead from the penalty spot inside 10 minutes beforeDe Bruyne then doubled our advantage.

An own-goal from Black Cats goalkeeper Vito Mannone came just after the half-hour, and a couple of minutes after that Raheem Sterling added the fourth before Ola Toivonen claimed a late consolation for the hosts.

2018: Riyad Mahrez scored his first goals for City as the champions recorded an emphatic 5-0 Premier League victory at Cardiff City.

On his 300th appearance for the Club, Sergio Aguero opened the scoring before Bernardo doubled our advantage.

Ilkay Gundogan struck a wonderful third a minute before half-time with an unstoppable curling strike after a one-two with Raheem Sterling.

Mahrez came on in the 61st minute to strike twice late on as City moved to second in the Premier League table..
