A member of the loan ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this weekend seen his altogether underwhelming opening to the new campaign continue.
The player in question? Ansu Fati.
Wide-man Ansu was of course allowed to depart Catalunya’s capital on loan earlier this summer.
After a difficult season under the watch of new Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, the Spaniard linked up with the aforementioned Monaco for the season ahead.
The hope was that Ansu would make use of his move to France to rediscover his brilliant best, in the process convincing the brass at the Stade Louis II to splash out on his signature.
As alluded to above, however, such efforts on the part of the 22-year-old, to date at least, have proven unsuccessful.
After being overlooked by Monaco headmaster Adi Hütter during pre-season, Ansu was also not afforded a call-up for either of the Monegasques’ first two outings of the Ligue 1 campaign.
And such woes on the part of the attacker have this weekend continued.
This comes with Ansu having not been included in Monaco’s matchday squad for the third fixture in succession, on this occasion to face RC Strasbourg.
