Arsenal picked up their first win of the Champions League campaign against Paris Saint-Germain last night.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring with a header beyond the onrushing Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 20th minute. Bukayo Saka doubled the club’s lead in a fortuitous way before the break.
Havertz was handed the man of the match for his overall performance. The German star won 10 duels with seven defensive actions. He also excelled with his hold-up and link-up play.
Shortly after the game, the 25-year-old wrote on Instagram that it was a ‘perfect night under the lights’.
Saka was the one of the Arsenal stars to comment, he replied: ‘On’.
Arsenal have had a fine start to the season and they are unbeaten after nine games.
Havertz has played a big part in the club’s campaign thus far with five goals and one assist.
The ex-Chelsea man was one of the stand-out performers during the back end of last season.
He has continued from where he left off with some crucial goals for the London giants.
The Gunners will be in Premier League action against Southampton at home on Saturday.
They will be overwhelming favourites, but can’t afford any complacency in the game.
The Saints have been a bogey club for them with two draws and one loss in the last three meetings.
Arsenal can’t take the visitors lightly, having almost squandered two points against Leicester City.
The club relinquished a 2-0 lead in the second half, but eventually grabbed the win in stoppage time.
