Liverpool earned a big three points on Sunday evening in the Premier League as they saw off Leicester City 3-0 at Anfield, setting a new record for home games unbeaten in the league in the process.
A lot of the headlines going into the game concerned the Reds’ injury issues, particularly at the back, but both Joel Matip and Fabinho were excellent at centre-half as they demonstrated decent foundations for their partnership.
It was Andy Robertson that was perhaps most impressive in the backline, though, with him a constant threat down the left-hand side, culminating in a wonderful cross for Diogo Jota’s header – Liverpool’s second of the night.
The Scotland full-back had himself given the Reds a fitness worry during the international break, missing one of his nation’s games with a tight hamstring, but any fears were allayed as he constantly bombed up and down.
