During the presentation of new Marseille boss Igor Tudor this afternoon, president Pablo Longoria admitted that with the change of coach comes a change in strategy at the club – in which the implementation of at least 2 players per position is a key part of the sporting project.

Longoria said: “The strategy has changed with the arrival of a new coach, the collective is always more important than the individual. We know the ideas and values that we want to establish in the team. We want to have at least two players per position to able to rotate the squad”

Marseille Yesterday announced Igor Tudor as the club’s new manager, with the Croatian replacing Jorge Sampaoli after the Argentine’s shock exit on Friday. The former Juventus assistant, who was managing fellow Serie A club Hellas Verona this past season before leaving the club in May, has signed a two-year deal with Ligue 1’s second-place finishers. He has been praised for his ambitious, pressing-oriented style of play.

Sampaoli’s exit was quickly negotiated at the end of last week, with the former Argentina and Chile manager reportedly resigning over what he saw a lack of ambition in the transfer window ahead of next year’s Champions League campaign.
