Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy are fit for Manchester City’s trip to Olympiakos, but Nathan Ake remains unavailable.

The Brazilian midfielder has been absent since suffering a leg injury in our 3-1 win over Porto last month and missed Saturday’s defeat at Tottenham Hotspur with a stomach problem.

Mendy has been sidelined since the beginning of October with a muscle problem, whilst the Olympiakos game will be the second match Ake has missed since returning from the international break with an injury.

“Everyone is fit except Nathan,” Guardiola confirmed at his pre-match press conference, where the boss was also asked whether he has any long-term concerns over Sergio Aguero’s fitness.

The Argentine was amongst the substitutes for the 2-0 loss at Spurs after recovering the hamstring injury he suffered against West Ham United just three games into his return from a knee injury.

“No,” said Guardiola when asked if he was worried about his striker.

“We want him to come back. Today [he is] training again, we want him to recover a good feeling in his knee.

“This is the most important thing. One step at a time, we have many games this season and we will need him. We want to recover his best condition.”

City travel to Greece knowing a fourth consecutive win in this season’s group stage would guarantee our qualification for the knockout stage of the Champions League with two games to spare.

Guardiola admitted doing so would allow his side to give increased focus to our Premier League campaign over the coming weeks but is taking nothing for granted.

“It's important for the qualification,” he added.

“To win games is important. As we can give this competition until February and focus on other competitions, especially the Premier League.

“But at the same time, we know how difficult the Champions League is. One step at a time.

“Try to get through tomorrow and qualify, but at the same time recover, come back with good feelings that we can create chances and score goals.”
