Olympiakos have declared interest in Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Amid talk of Ronaldo planning to play out his career with United, Olympiakos GM Evangelina Souloukou has declared they're interested in bringing him to Greece before he retires. Ronaldo, now 36, has a two-year contract with United with the option for another year. However, there is hope at Olympiakos of eventually signing Ronaldo given he's never experienced Greek football.

"An arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo? Why not?" said Souloukou to Tuttosport via Le 10 Sport.

"President Marinakis is very fond of Olympiakos and there are no limits to improving the team."

Since his return to Old Trafford, Ronaldo has scored five goals in seven appearances.

Evangelos Marinakis is the owner of both Olympiakos and Championship outfit Nottingham Forest. In the past, Olympiakos haven't been shy in making star signings, with Yaya Toure and Rivaldo having had spells with the Greek giants.

Marinakis was named president of Olympiakos earlier this year, with the club finishing last season as champions.
