Spain were relieved after overcoming a difficult Georgia 2-1 in Sunday's World Cup qualifier.
Dani Olmo scored in the second minute of second-half stoppage time to earn Spain a dramatic 2-1 victory over Georgia in Group B of UEFA World Cup qualifying for Qatar 2022 on night at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi.
Spain were staring at a second consecutive 1-1 draw to start qualifying until Olmo's late strike saved their blushes. Georgia had scored first shortly before half-time, before Ferran Torres scored the equaliser, followed by Olmo's late heroics.
Georgia made Spain very uncomfortable, especially when the hosts launched an attack on the counter while buoyed by the loud roaring of the limited fans in attendance.
Despite the three points, it was a performance that will still raise questions about head coach Luis Enrique and his approach to the remainder of Spain's qualifying schedule.
