Olivier Ntcham looks set to sign for Marseille on loan today with an agreement for a option to but at €10million being put in place. The former Manchester City player has not featured for Celtic this year – the French midfielder’s last outing for the Hoops was on 23 December – and he’s the latest of the Wantaway players who will leave the club, joining Jeremie Frimpong who last week signed for Leverkusen for a fee of £11.5m.
Olivier Ntcham option to buy expected to be €10m
France Football reporter Nabil Djellit reports that the option to buy in a deal that would see Olivier Ntcham move from Celtic to Marseille is expected to be around €10m. The player’s wages are no problem for OM and the deal is expected to go through today.
Traslated: “Celtic had refused an operation at 17M € for Ntcham from Porto. The Scots had set the bar at 25 in the summer of 2019. Now for 10 M € at the end of the season, the case is closed. The salary of the French Hope is widely accessible to the finances of the #OM.”
Earlier, according to French network RMC Sport, Ntcham is in “active negotiations” with Marseille and has already spoken with the club’s sporting director Pablo Longoria.
“Olivier Ntcham is very close to joining OM. The file is said to be very advanced and optimism reigns at the Marseille club.” Mercat’OM report.
