France and Milan have suffered their first blow of the international break, as star striker Olivier Giroud was forced out of France’s EURO 2024 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland.

The veteran forward was in tears as he left the pitch just 25 minutes into the match with an apparent ankle injury.

Giroud has been a key figure for Milan’s hot start to the season, as the Rossoneri have won all three of their opening Serie A fixtures.

What’s worse for Stefano Pioli’s side, their first order of business after the international break is a Milan derby showdown with fellow unbeaten side Inter.

Milan will be hoping and praying they can get Giroud healthy before the local showdown.
