Hansi Flick is being tipped as the man to ultimately replace Joachim Löw as Germany boss by DFB director Oliver Bierhoff.

Since taking over as Bayern Munich boss a year ago, the 55-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the world’s top coaches.

By winning an incredible quintuple, he has quickly stepped out of his assistant role shadow and made a big impression.

One of those who has been suitably impressed is Bierhoff, who agreed with growing fan and media opinion that he could be the man to step up when Löw’s time with Die Mannschaft is up.

“Would I trust him as Germany coach? Absolutely. Hansi knows the DFB [German football association] inside out,” Bierhoff told Sport1.

“He has incredible quality and has always said how much he values the association.

“I’m really happy and proud to see what he has managed with Bayern recently. I first brought him into the national team set-up.

“Over the years, he has been a really important factor in the success of this team. What he has achieved in a short time in Munich is really impressive.

“It isn’t currently a topic for us [taking over for Germany] though, neither for us nor for him. This isn’t an issue.”

Flick was an assistant coach with his country for almost a decade and was part of the staff which won the World Cup in 2014.
