It has been over a year since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer departed Manchester United but the Norwegian is ready to return to management.

Solskjaer’s final game in charge of Manchester United ended as a 4-1 defeat against Watford. As a club legend, it was hard to watch the bad results mount but we must stress that nothing improved when Solskjaer was replaced by Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis.

Despite a poor start to the 2019/20 season, Solskjaer led the team to a top four finish before finishing second a year later — our highest position since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as manager. The optimistic following that season didn’t last and the team began to focus on providing service to a 36-year-old.

Since his emotional exit from Old Trafford, we haven’t heard too much from Solskjaer. The Athletic claims he has been travelling and learning how to sail. He also wants to manage again and has been studying the winning teams in the top European leagues.

Part of his analytical work included re-watching every United game he was in charge of – all 168 of them throughout a three-year stint as manager at old Trafford. Solskjaer won 91 of those and some of them will live long in the fans’ memory.

Interestingly, the report states that he has turned down offers to return to management as well as television work.

Solskjaer feels recharged and ready to step back in management. We would like to wish him every success in the future because it was a shame how things ended for him at United.
