Gary Neville tells Donny van de Beek to leave Manchester United for a new club after Leicester City snub

As quoted by Manchester Evening News, Gary Neville has asked Donny van de Beek to find a new club and leave Manchester United after he was snubbed yet again by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this weekend.

The Red Devils slumped to an embarrassing 4-2 loss at the King Power Stadium against Leicester City and their midfielder was less than impressive during the 90 minutes. Yet, van de Beek remained an unused substitute on the bench.

The Netherlands international arrived amidst much hype last year when United secured a £35million transfer for him from Ajax Amsterdam. But since then, he has failed to find regular gametime under the Norwegian manager.

The situation is seemingly worsening this season with the 24-year-old yet to start a league game for the Red Devils. And Neville suggests that Solskjaer probably does not fancy the midfielder, with van de Beek playing just 141 minutes of football this season.

van de Beek told to leave Man Utd

“Why’s Donny van de Beek not being given a chance?. There’s something about that. He’s not been given a chance for 18 months so you’ve got to come to the conclusion that Ole didn’t sign him or he doesn’t fancy him.”

The Man United legend even suggested that the former Ajax playmaker should find a new club to restart his career. His contract at the club, meanwhile, lasts until 2025.

“Neither is good for Donny van de Beek so I think he needs to go and play football somewhere.”

It is a bit frustrating for the fans as well to see a talented, creative midfielder warming the bench when the midfield on the pitch is failing to do a good job. There doesn’t appear to be a clear reason why van de Beek isn’t being given his time out in the sun but his regular omission from the team is surely not winning Solskjaer any more supporters in the United fanbase.
