Alexandre Lacazette's heroic double to rescue a point against LOSC in Ligue 1 Uber Eats R27 action on Friday night took him second - level with club legend Bernard Lacombe on 149 for the Rhône Valley club.

After a month out injured (hamstring) OL's 2022-23 top scorer Alexandre Lacazette made a triumphant return to action against LOSC on Friday night - despite conceding a penalty with a handball in the area just minutes after coming of the bench.

Rare blooper quickly redeemed...

Jonathan David made no mistake from the spot and took LOSC to 3-1 up, but Lacazette took matters into his own hands - or rather, feet - and struck twice in short order (83', 89') to level the match at 3-3. "I had a tough entry into the match because I conceded a penalty, maybe one of the only times in my career. The team showed a lot of mental strength tonight. I've been out for three weeks and I was really looking forward to getting back on the pitch. I'm glad I could help the team.

...with a record!

Not only did the heroic double rescue a point for Les Gones, but it took the Lyon youth academy graduate to 149 goal for the club - level with legendary striker Bernard Lacombe in second place on the club's all-time scorers chart. "I've equalled Bernard's all-time goal tally, and I am really happy," smiled the prodigal Lyon son, back in France after a stint in the EPL with Arsenal. "This has been one of my objectives."

A long way to go...

So, with his season tally now at 16 (third on the Ligue 1 Uber Eats scorers chart now topped by LOSC's Jonathan David, who scored all three of LOSC's goals), Lacazette now goes in search of the Olympique Lyonnais' outright scoring record - Fleury Di Nallo's incredible 222 goals in all competitions, scored between 1960 and 1974.
