In the space of less than a week, two OGC Nice players have undergone surgeries on sports hernia issues. Late last week, it was Sofiane Diop (25). On Tuesday, it was Tanguy Ndombélé (28).

Nice have confirmed that the Frenchman has undergone surgery on the problem. It is a problem that saw him sidelined for almost the entirety of the second half of the season. In January, the former Tottenham Hotspur revealed that he had been struggling with a sports hernia issue. Those problems continued and worsened over the second half of the season. He went from a peripheral figure to off the radar entirely. His last appearance in Ligue 1 dates back to the end of February.

As is the case for Diop, Ndombélé is now expected to be sidelined for between six to eight weeks.
