Tanguy Ndombélé’s (28) move to OGC Nice has been a partial success. When he has played, the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has, in flashes, shown the levels that made him Tottenham’s record signing, at the time. However, he has nonetheless had to contend with injuries, which have held him back and limited his minutes.

Ndombélé revealed that he was playing through the pain of an ongoing pubalgia issue in January. That has not changed, as manager Franck Haise confirmed during a press conference on Thursday. Haise said that Ndombélé had once again complained about this issue, whilst also revealing that the former Olympique Lyonnais midfielder had seen a surgeon about the problem. During the meeting, which took place several weeks ago, it was decided that surgery was not required. Despite the midfielder’s latest complaints, that has not changed.
