OGC Nice look to offload Gaëtan Laborde and Jérémie Boga

As Franck Haise stated at the end of last season, OGC Nice will have to sell players in order to bring in new ones. There are plenty of candidates to leave the club this summer. Evann Guessand, the most bankable asset in the squad, is the one attracting the most interest and the one earmarked for an exit, as is Marcin Bulka, who has just one year remaining on his deal.

However, there are two other players on particularly high wages that Nice are looking to offload, according to L’Équipe. Those players are Jérémie Boga (28) and Gaëtan Laborde (31). The former saw his game time tail off under Haise last season, and more often than not, he was used as an option off the bench. That is evident in his disappointing statistical return (three goals, one assist in 24 games in all competitions). It is not a return in line with his standing as one of the highest earners at the club (€225,000 per month).

A move to the Middle East for Laborde?

The Ivory Coast international will not be retained. There is interest in him from several unnamed clubs. Laborde is another player that Nice would like to sell. The Frenchman is currently on €320,000 per month and that will go up to €350,000 should Les Aiglons make the UEFA Champions League ‘League Phase’. They will participate in the qualification rounds later this summer.

Unlike Boga, there is less of a market for Laborde, whose contract expires at the end of last season. There has, however, previously been interest from the Middle East, as per L’Équipe, and this remains the most likely destination for the forward.
