Official | Wolfsburg’s Vaclav Cerny moves to Beşiktaş on €7m transfer

Vaclav Cerny’s reported on permanent departure from VfL Wolfsburg has been officially confirmed. The 26-times-capped Czech international departs his Bundesliga outfit following a two-year-stint on the books of Germany’s green company team. Cerny nevertheless played only one full Bundesliga season, spending last year on loan with Glasgow Rangers. Beşiktaş Istanbul have purchased Cerny permanently and signed him to a two-year-deal.
Kicker currently reports that Wolfsburg have received a €7m transfer fee for the 27-year-old. The Lower Saxon Autostädter paid a reported €8m to acquire Cerny from FC Twente in the summer of 2023 and also pocketed a €1.5m loan fee off Cerny’s temporary move to the Scottish Premiership. He ended up scoring four goals in his Bundesliga career.
The Wolfsburg front office – skeleton-staffed following an exceptionally busy end to the summer transfer window yesterday – issued a brief statement confirming Cerny’s transfer to Beşiktaş on Tuesday and thanked the player for his service. Cerny did turn in a notably strong training camp for die Wölfe and might have been a regular Bundesliga fixture this year.
