Arsenal travel to Anfield this weekend for what will no doubt be the toughest of their recent meetings with Liverpool. Mikel Arteta has, of course, bested Jurgen Klopp on both occasions.

Taking charge of the game will be Craig Pawson, getting his first Arsenal involvement of the season.

On the line will be Lee Betts and Richard West.

The fourth official will be everybody’s favourite moron, Anthony Taylor, while Andre ‘Ox or Gibbs?’ Marriner will run the VAR, assisted by Mark Scholes.

Last season, Liverpool needed the guts of 10 fouls to receive a yellow card while Arsenal picked one up every 2.3.

This season after just two games, Liverpool have made 17 fouls and picked up one yellow while Arsenal have two for their 23 (rate of 17 v 11.5).

Pawson has taken charge of two games this season, Brighton 1 Chelsea 3, in which he issued just one yellow. His other game was Brentford 3 Hunndersfield 0 and he flashed just one yellow in that game too.

Last season, Pawson took charge of 34 games, dishing out 139 yellows at an average rate of four per game. He also sent three players off, only two of which were straight reds. 23 of his games were in the Premier League where he issued 87 yellows and two reds.
