France international midfielder Youssouf Fofana (25) has officially signed for AC Milan from AS Monaco, both clubs have confirmed. The 25-year-old has put pen to paper over a four-year contract, tying him to the Lombardy giants until June 2028. Monaco and Milan previously reached a €25m agreement including €2m worth of bonuses. The France international midfielder was linked with a Premier League move with West Ham United and Manchester United expressing their interest, but Fofana made clear he wanted to join the Rossoneri.
Fofana featured 175 times with Les Monégasques, logging seven goals and 15 assists. The 21-time France international featured with Les Bleus at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and in the 2024 Euros in Germany. Fofana will wear the #29 jersey with Paulo Fonseca’s AC Milan. Monaco already prepared for Fofana’s transfer by recruiting Metz’s Lamine Camara. AS Monaco will kick off their Ligue 1 season this Saturday evening against promoted side Saint-Etienne.
