Toulouse FC have completed the signing of Stade Rennais academy product Yann Gboho (22), the Ligue 1 club have confirmed.
Gboho moved from Rennes to Belgian side Cercle Brugge back in the summer of 2022. The winger has enjoyed a successful spell in Belgium, scoring four goals and registering nine assists in 52 appearances. During his first season at the club, Cercle Brugge reached the Belgian championship playoffs.
However, 18 months after leaving France, Gboho has now made his return. He has joined Toulouse, with the club not disclosing the fee, nor the length of the France youth international’s contract. L’Équipe reported the fee to be worth around €2.5m.
Gboho will notably compensate for the absence of Moroccan international winger Zakaria Aboukhlal (23), who suffered a potentially season-ending injury earlier in Le TéFéCé’s campaign. Toulouse FC have announced that their new signing will wear the No.37 shirt this season.
