La Liga outfit Valencia have this week been afforded a boost on the personnel front.
As much comes by way of confirmation that a key member of the club’s defensive ranks has extended his terms at the Mestalla.
The player in question? Cristhian Mosquera.
Stopper Mosquera, for his part, has enjoyed something of a breakout campaign to date.
Since first establishing himself as a regular at the heart of Valencia’s backline early in the campaign, the Los Che youth product has not looked back, featuring from the off in every game since the beginning of October.
As much saw the Spaniard, still just 19, begin to attract admiring glances from across the continent in January, with a number of Premier League clubs understood to have expressed a keen interest in his services.
In turn, it will no doubt come as a boost for all associated with Valencia to hear of Mosquera’s contract with the club being extended.
Previously due to expire in the summer of 2025, the stopper’s terms have been automatically renewed for a further year, owing to an appearance clause.
As per an official statement across Los Che’s website and social media platforms:
‘This Wednesday, Valencia CF and Cristhian Mosquera signed a contract extension through until June 30th, 2026, which became effective upon his meeting the number of games stipulated in his contract to activate the clause.’
