Unai Emery has committed his future to Aston Villa by extending his contract as head coach for one more season. As reported by David Ornstein, Emery’s new deal will now expire in June 2027.

The former Villarreal manager is happy with life in England and is ecstatic about how well the project at the West Midlands club is going. The club also intend to sit down in the summer to prolong the deal further.

This contract renewal was to essentially ensure that the 52-year-old manager remains at the club, now that he is attracting interest from various elite clubs after his amazing work in the Premier League. Per Ornstein, the club’s owners see Emery becoming their version of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Emery joined the Villans midway through last season and immediately put his stamp on the side, securing them UEFA Conference League qualification. This season his side have progressed further and against all the odds they are on course to secure Champions League football through their league position.
