European football’s governing body UEFA have officially announced the postponement of tomorrow night’s Europa League last 16 match up between Inter and Getafe.
UEFA have been forced into making this decision after the Spanish government imposed travel restrictions amid the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak which prevent flights between Spain and Italy, which has been the second worst affected country by the virus worldwide.
UEFA have confirmed further decisions will be made in due course with regard to what will happen with this fixture.
Roma’s match with Sevilla in the same competition has also been postponed for the same reason.
It now remains to be seen what further action UEFA take with it having been suggested in the media and by Getafe’s president Angel Torres that the game could be moved to a neutral venue somewhere.
It is also as yet unclear what will happen with next week’s match which was supposed to be the second leg between the two sides.
