Udinese have officially extended their contract with coach Kosta Runjaic to June 2027 following an impressive first season.

The 54-year-old was a surprise appointment last summer after the club scraped top flight status, as he was relatively unknown.

He had a strong opening campaign on the Udinese bench, steering them comfortably to mid-table in the Serie A table thanks to 12 victories, eight draws and 18 defeats.

Their form was considerably better at the start of the season, as he managed just one win in the final 11 rounds, but this was after having secured safety.

The Friulani decided to extend their commitment to the coach, who has German, Austrian and Serbian nationality.

A statement from the club confirmed that the contracts of his assistants Przemyslaw Malecki and Alex Trukan have also been extended to June 2027.
