EFL Championship side Sunderland AFC have announced the signing of French striker Wilson Isidor (23), subject to international clearance, on loan from FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. Isidor’s season-long loan move includes the option to make his transfer permanent. In Wearside, the centre-forward will reunite with former Stade Rennais youth development coach Regis Le Bris.
Isidor logged four goals in 26 games with FC Zenit, with which he remains tied under a contract set to expire in 2026. The 23-year-old will swell Sunderland’s French contingent and link up with Timothée Pembélé, Adil Aouchiche, Abdoullah Ba and Pierre Ekwah. “I’m so happy to be here and sign for Sunderland. It is an amazing club with a huge fanbase – and when a club like that wants you, it feels amazing. I didn’t hesitate. It was a natural decision”, Isidor said.
