“I am very pleased about the contract extension because I am convinced that we can still achieve a lot together. When I came to VfB almost two years ago, the sporting situation was challenging with us sitting in 18th place in the table. Nevertheless, the move to VfB felt like the right thing to do back then. And it feels just as right to extend the contract now. The collaboration with the management team around Alex Wehrle, Fabian Wohlgemuth and Christian Gentner was very trusting from the start, and together we took a successful path after the relegation play-offs that led us all the way to the Champions League. We want and must continue to give our all at all levels within the club to achieve lasting success. This also includes developing and strengthening our team. We want to be able to permanently claim to be represented in international competition with VfB. Now it is time to pool our resources for the final stretch of the season in the Bundesliga. And of course, we’re all looking forward to the semi-finals of the DFB Cup and are eager to take the final step to Berlin.”
