Lyon winger Saïd Benrahma (29) has joined Neom SC on loan, the Ligue 1 side has confirmed. The Algeria international has committed to the Saudi Arabia second-tier club until the end of the campaign. In 13 Ligue 1 appearances this campaign, Benrahma had logged only one goal for Les Gones. He joined Lyon from West Ham United on loan a year ago. Benrahma’s move was made permanent last summer when Lyon triggered his €14m purchase option, tying him to a new contract set to expire in 2027.
Lyon has revealed that Benrahma’s loan move to Neom SC will be made permanent – triggering a €12m purchase option – should Neom SC gain promotion to the Saudi Pro League. Neom are currently top of Saudi Arabia’s second tier. Lyon could also receive €3m worth of performance-related add-ons. Since his arrival from West Ham, the 2023 Conference League winner has registered six goals and 10 assists in 37 games with Les Gones.
