Ligue 1 side Reims have announced the arrival of Maltese international midfielder Teddy Teuma from Union Saint-Gilloise after an impressive season in the Belgian top flight.
According to L’Équipe, the Toulon-born versatile player has signed a four-year deal with the Champagne side – although the final season of the contract is only optional.
The former Boulogne and Red Star man makes his return to French football after four and a half years north of the border, in a deal which has earned the Brussels-based side a reported €4m. He had two years remaining on his contract in the Belgian capital, where he made a total of 164 appearances in all competitions.
Last season, Teuma managed an impressive 14 goals and 17 assists, emerging as a centrepiece of the USG team that finished second in the league and reached the Europa League quarter-final. With the Maltese national team, he has 31 caps and three goals.
