Referee Andrea Cololmbo will be in charge of Inter Milan’s Serie A opening match against Monza on Saturday.
This is confirmed by the Lega Serie A, which announces the officiating teams who will be in charge of all the matches from the first round of fixtures of this season, via FCInterNews.
This weekend, the Nerazzurri finally get their Serie A campaign underway.
Inter start the season by hosting Monza at the San Siro.
The Brianzoli will be hoping to equal or even better their eye-catching eleventh place finish from last season.
Raffaele Palladino’s team secured a comfortable midtable berth in their first ever season in the top flight. But they know that even staying in the division is no guarantee, let alone building on last season.
Meanwhile, Inter will be aiming to climb up the table from last season’s third place finish.
The Nerazzurri are making no effort to hide the fact that the Serie A title is their goal.
And Inter will know well that they have to be wary of their first opponent of the season. Last season, Monza drew 2-2 with the Nerazzurri at the U-Power Stadium before doing one better by securing a famous win at the San Siro in the reverse fixture.
The referee for Saturday’s match will be Andrea Colombo.
Assisting Colombo in his duties will be Giovanni Baccini and Pasquale Capaldo.
The role of the fourth official, meanwhile, will fall to Maurizio Mariani.
In the VAR booth, Luigi Nasca will oversee the match to ensure that any errors made by the on-pitch officials are corrected.
Assisting Nasca in his duties will be Daniele Paterna.
Inter will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than refereeing controversy.
