Following his substitution during the game against Liverpool last night, Real Madrid have now confirmed that Eduardo Camavinga has suffered a thigh injury.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the club’s Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg. Pending evolution,” the statement from the club read.
Camavinga pulled up clutching the back of his thigh around the 57th minute during the contest at Anfield last night, raising alarms.
The 22-year-old was soon taken off with Dani Ceballos taking his place on the pitch even as Real Madrid fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool.
Speculations suggested that Camavinga could be out for at least two weeks but an official update regarding his injury was awaited.
Following tests, Real Madrid have now confirmed the nature of the French international’s injury as per the aforementioned statement.
Building on that, journalist Arancha Rodriguez reports that the midfielder is expected to be out for a period of two to three weeks, which comes as a fresh blow for Carlo Ancelotti.
