Real Madrid will be looking to register their second win of the 2024/25 La Liga season when they lock horns with UD Las Palmas later tonight at Gran Canaria.
Having dropped points in the opening game against Mallorca, Carlo Ancelotti’s men bounced back to win against Real Valladolid last weekend.
The Merengues will be eager to build on that momentum and grab another three points, especially with arch-rivals Barcelona making a perfect start to the season with three wins in three games.
Ahead of the game tonight, Ancelotti has released the Real Madrid starting lineup and there are a few changes to the team that took the field against Valladolid at the Bernabeu last Sunday.
Ancelotti has decided to leave out Rodrygo Goes and hand a start to Brahim Diaz in attack, which might suggest a change of formation, with the Morrocan international slotting in behind the front two of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
There is also a change in midfield, where Luka Modric comes in to make his first start of the La Liga season, at the expense of Arda Guler. Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni retain their places.
Two more changes have been made in defence as Lucas Vazquez and Ferland Mendy replace Dani Carvajal and Fran Garcia as the full-backs. Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger are the two centre-backs again while Thibaut Courtois continues in goal.
