Real Madrid have an excellent chance to stretch their lead at the top of the La Liga table as they get set to take on bottom feeders Real Valladolid at Estadio Jose Zorrilla in a couple of hours.

With Atletico Madrid being held to a 1-1 draw by Villarreal today, Los Blancos can extend their lead at the top to four points with a victory.

Ahead of the crucial match against the Pucela, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has announced the starting lineup.

There are changes made to the side that started in the midweek UEFA Champions League against RB Salzburg.

Aurelien Tchouameni returns to the starting XI, lining up as a centre-back alongside Antonio Rudiger.

Raul Asencio, meanwhile, moves to the right-back position, with Ancelotti not opting to start Lucas Vazquez, who had a minor injury scare earlier in the week. Fran Garcia replaces Ferland Mendy at left-back.

Meanwhile, Federico Valverde moves back to his rightful place in midfield after featuring as a right-back in the midweek game. The Uruguayan also captains the team on the night.

Valverde is partnered by Dani Ceballos in the double pivot for Real Madrid while Jude Bellingham continues as the attacking midfielder.

With Vinicius Jr. out due to suspension, Brahim Diaz walks into the team in his place, lining up on the right wing while Rodrygo moves to the left. Kylian Mbappe is the centre-forward.
