Real Madrid are set to square off against RCD Mallorca tomorrow at the Santiago Bernabeu, aiming to bounce back from their fourth El Clasico defeat this past weekend.
With Carlo Ancelotti’s departure now confirmed, the team will hope to send him off with victories in the remaining three matches starting tomorrow, but the situation is dire as far as the injuries in the squad are concerned.
Indeed, Real Madrid have announced the squad list for the Mallorca clash with only 12 senior players available.
After all, the Merengues lost Lucas Vazquez and Vinicius Jr. to injuries after the Clasico while Rodrygo is also out again after being unable to complete training today.
They join Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Eduardo Camavinga out on the sidelines while Aurelien Tchouameni misses out through suspension.
Given the dire circumstances, Ancelotti has been forced to dig deep into the youth and Castilla reserves for tomorrow’s game.
As such, young talents like Youssef ‘Yusi’ Lekhedim, Jacobo Ramon, David Jimenez, Mario Rivas, Sergio Mestre, Chema Andres, Gonzalo Garcia, and Victor Munoz have been called up for the game.
Raul Asencio, still technically a Castilla player but very much a part of the first-team setup now, is bound to start in defence despite having some difficulties finishing the game vs Barcelona. Out-of-favour star Jesus Vallejo may have a chance to feature given the situation.
