Real Madrid have officially announced their squad for the upcoming game against Manchester City, in the first leg of the UCL knockout playoff.
Initially, the club had added Lucas Vazquez as part of the official squad to take on the English champions.
However, Real Madrid have recently confirmed that the versatile right-back has picked up a fresh knock, which will reportedly keep him on the sidelines for three weeks.
Lucas, therefore, will have to be replaced by someone heading into this game.
Not too many changes are there elsewhere, with youngsters Jacobo and Lorenzo notably earning a spot in the wake of the club’s ongoing injury crisis in defence.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti does not have too many absentees in midfield or attack, though it must be noted that at least five players are running the risk of suspension in the second leg due to yellow card accumulation.
These players include the likes of Jude Bellingham, Luka Modric and Aurelien Tchouameni, who is one of the candidates to feature in defence against Man City.
Another booking in any of these aforementioned midfielders could spell trouble for Real Madrid, especially knowing that Ancelotti could be forced to deploy Federico Valverde at right-back, in the wake of Vazquez’s injury.
