Real Madrid have officially announced that midfielder Mario Martin has joined Getafe on a season-long loan deal, which will run until June 30, 2026.
The move had been widely expected in recent days, but it was only confirmed on Tuesday morning through a joint statement released by both clubs across their social media platforms.
“Real Madrid CF and Getafe CF have agreed to sign Mario Martin on loan for this season, until June 30, 2026,” the official statement read.
The 21-year-old, a product of Real Madrid’s famed youth system, was a standout performer at Castilla, where he eventually wore the captain’s armband.
His leadership and consistency at the reserve level earned him a call-up to the Real Madrid first team during the 2023/24 season.
Following that milestone, Martin spent the season with Real Valladolid in La Liga, making 30 appearances in the top flight and featuring twice in the Copa del Rey.

Despite attracting strong interest this summer, Mario Martin remained focused on his future at Real Madrid.
He prioritised his development and stayed committed to the club during the FIFA Club World Cup.
As such, several teams approached the young midfielder, including Brazilian side Botafogo, where Davide Ancelotti, former assistant to Carlo Ancelotti, pushed for his signing. However, that move ultimately fell through.
Getafe, however, had maintained steady interest from the start of the window. Their persistence has now paid off.
Martin will aim to continue his growth at the top level in Spain and gain valuable experience with a club that has shown confidence in his potential.
The midfielder is also a Spanish under-19 international, having earned seven caps so far. With this loan spell, he has the chance to build on that international experience and return to Madrid as a more complete player.
