France have already cruised past the group stages following an impressive 4-1 and 2-1 win against Australia and Denmark, respectively. The French have shown strong signs of being more than capable of defending their 2018 crown, even after losing several key players to injury.

They still have to play one final match against Tunisia before the round of 16 kicks off. Didier Deschamps has fielded a largely rotated side, with six players playing their first 2022 World Cup game.

Of these, Eduardo Camavinga has been given a break in the team – at left-back, though. He starts alongside Madrid legend Raphael Varane, while Ibrahim Konate and Axel Disasi round off the back-four.

Steve Mandanda started for France vs Denmark in the group stages four years ago, and will hope to keep yet another clean sheet tonight, replacing Hugo Lloris in goal.

Aurelien Tchouameni has done exceedingly well in the group stages so far, and starts yet another game, partnered with Youssouf Fofana and Jordan Veretout to form a midfield trident.

Matteo Guendouzi could act as the attacking midfielder, playing behind the front-two of Randal Kolo Muani and Kingsley Coman.
