Following the signings of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid have now announced the departure of out-of-favour defender Jesus Vallejo.
“Real Madrid CF announces that Jesus Vallejo has ended his time as a Real Madrid player,” the club statement read.
“Real Madrid thanks Jesus Vallejo for his professionalism, commitment, and work, and wishes him and his family the best in this new stage of his life.”
Vallejo, 28, had been at Real Madrid since 2015 but spend half of his time at the club away on loan. The Spanish ace had temporary stints with Real Zaragoza, Eintract Frankfurt, Wolves, and Granada.
As for his time at Real Madrid, Vallejo only made a total of 35 first-team appearances, scoring and assisting one goal apiece. Four of these 35 appearances came in the 2024/25 season.
Vallejo’s contract stood to expire on June 30, but Real Madrid and the player have opted to end their partnership before that.
The centre-back leaves the club having won two Champions League titles, four Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups.
